After much thought and consideration, I have made the decision to retire and close The Pilates Room. This marks the end of a fulfilling journey that has been both professionally rewarding and personally meaningful.
I am incredibly grateful to all the clients who have supported The Pilates Room over the last 5 years. The relationships built along the way have been invaluable, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished together. Your trust, loyalty, and commitment have been at the heart of everything we've done. Sharing Pilates with you has truly been a gift to me and I hope you will take that with you in your daily life.
Our last day of class at The Pilates Room will be on April 30, 2025. Please make sure to use all of your classes by April 30th, no refunds will be issued for unused classes. Any class packs bought now will expire on April 30th. If you are on a monthly membership, I will talk with you about prorating your last month. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
To all those who have supported me and The Pilates Room throughout the years, I sincerely thank you. It has been a privilege to serve you, and I will cherish the memories and experiences we've shared. This decision comes with mixed emotions, but I am confident that it is the right time to step away to travel and spend time with my family.
Sharing my love of Pilates with you,

Owner, The Pilates Room
Pilates is comprised of more than 500 exercises that are performed either in a mat-based workout or by using special resistance equipment that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. The equipment used in Pilates emphasizes spring resistance. Pilates training strengthens the core of the body - the deep abdominal muscles, gluteus muscles and the deep intrinsic muscles surrounding the spine. Pilates elongates the spine, increasing the elasticity of muscles and the flexibility of joints. It is the balance between strength and flexibility that reduces the potential for injury.
Pilates emphasizes the flowing movement that requires the use of multiple muscle groups simultaneously. Pilates avoids emphasizing on the strength of stronger muscles while neglecting those that are already weak. By focusing on the balance between all working muscles, Pilates can benefit those recovering from injury as well as anyone seeking good posture. Controlled breathing and concentration are crucial, making Pilates a true workout for the body and the mind.
STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over three decades refining the acclaimed STOTT PILATES method of exercise. The refined method resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation — making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. STOTT PILATES is recognized as The Professional’s Choice™ by studios, fitness facilities, fitness professionals and the consumer market worldwide.
